Monday round-up

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren spoke over the weekend at the AFL-CIO national convention, where she criticized the Court as overly conservative and pro-corporate.  Coverage of her remarks comes from Alexander Burns of Politico and Ashley Alman of The Huffington Post.

At Slate, Emily Bazelon discusses A Wild Justice, a new book by Evan Mandery that “shows how tantalizingly close the Supreme Court came to ending the death penalty.”

And in USA Today, David Jackson reports on Vice President Joe Biden’s suggestion that Janet Napolitano – the former head of Homeland Security, now the president of the University of California system – should be on the Court.
